They put it better than we do

Attention to detail is rare, and Circut is full of it. But what won me over is how much it teaches you: the app shows you how to choose your shortcuts well, warns you when one of them might fire at the wrong moment, and offers you something to start from.

Whether you are new to this or an old hand, you find your feet right away. It is a tool made by people who use it heavily, and it shows at every turn.

Simply won over. I was very attached to Alfred and fairly resistant to change. But within a few hours, it had naturally taken over. It’s simple, intuitive, extremely well thought out, with real attention to detail and to the user experience (not something you see very often anymore).

You can tell it was made with passion. And today, I use it every day. Huge thanks for all the care and generosity that went into this project.

I’ve been using text expansion for years, mostly with Alfred and Raycast. But in some apps (WhatsApp, Messages, Things…) my texts came out truncated. To deal with that bug, I had to turn expansion off in those apps. Hugely frustrating.

With Circut, those problems are gone. It just works.

A modern take, designed above all to fit in discreetly yet effectively, one that guides you as you learn the tool until it becomes second nature.

All these small touches have let Circut climb very quickly into my most-used tools, thanks to the massive everyday gains it brings at the cost of zero friction.

A lightweight, simple, approachable tool. Yet so well thought out, with libraries of circuts to download, notifications when you forget one and, of course, very thorough statistics, now inseparable from its creator. And better still: it all stays local.

I was amazed by Circut’s design and its attention to detail. I adopted it quickly and suggested the whole Loom team do the same.

I put Circut on the same level of “indispensability” as Alfred and Keyboard Maestro. And that is saying something: I use those two thousands of times a week.

Nothing about Circut is revolutionary. It’s just a simple idea, bundled in thoughtful execution. The attention to details is phenomenal; it’s the rare breed of apps made by obsessive people, who obsessively use it.

I switched from Espanso to Circut because the migration was easy, and Circut’s onboarding convinced me it would take me from rookie to veteran with tools like these. Being able to use a UI without leaving the keyboard is really great.

Impressive. Circut is one of those rare apps that make you glad you found them, because it ticks absolutely every box: simple, efficient, superbly thought out, and adopted on day one. You have to try it to see for yourself!

I’ve been using text expanders for over 10 years, and aText was my favorite until now. Jonathan had me try Circut, and it’s night and day: far smoother, fast, not a single bug, and the packs are really handy. Circut is now my favorite text expander.

Alfred, Raycast… plenty of apps offer text expansion, but none with this level of care. Circut was designed with love, and it shows in every last detail.

The stroke of genius is Circut’s ability to remind you that a shortcut exists when you type out the full word. It’s the first time a text expansion app has genuinely tackled the heart of the problem: changing your habits today to save time tomorrow.

The app is really simple to use, efficient, and above all very pleasant to use day to day. You can tell real attention has been paid to the user experience, with a clear interface.

It’s the kind of tool you adopt quickly and then wonder how you ever managed without. I recommend it without hesitation!

Hats off, and congratulations on the app itself, on the wealth of shortcuts it comes loaded with, and on the onboarding. And on all the thinking about how shortcuts get used. Wow!!! I’ve never paid for an app as quickly as I did for this one.

I am (well, was) a paying TextExpander user, and I used Raycast’s snippets too. I’ve canceled my subscription, and I’ll move my snippets over as I go. I could have used the import, but all the advice built into the app is pushing me to rethink my shortcuts. Well done, and thank you!

I’d been using Alfred’s snippets for my work for several years, and I had started to pile up a few too many duplicates. A cleanup was overdue, but I could never bring myself to do it. Seeing the person who had “inspired” my daily use of Alfred launch an app dedicated to snippets convinced me to give Circut a chance.

Glad I did: exporting from Alfred is easy, and the app works wonders at handling duplicates, suggesting “shortcuts” and more. In short: approved, and in daily use.
